About Us

The Canadian Bay Club is an iconic boating and recreational club, located in Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Club has a wide range of facilities for boating enthusiasts and social members:

  • Storage for power boats, with a private launching ramp
  • Storage for kayaks, stand up paddle boards (SUPs) and sail boats
  • BBQs
  • Decks overlooking the water
  • Showers, toilets
  • Family friendly sheltered beach
  • Fully equipped kitchen with an oven, crockery and fridges
  • BYO liquor licence

All you need to do is bring your own food and drink!

Membership is currently capped at 300 unique members who who can be singles, couples or families (circa 900 people). The Club is run for the benefit of its members and their guests, and the Club supports the local community of Mount Eliza by running a number of social functions each year and allowing the facilities on occasions to be used for fundraising events for local charities.

 

Membership to the Club works on a nomination basis, which means an existing member in most instances must propose you.

The club has a rich history dating back to Sir Laurence Hartnett in the 1950's, it was also the set for the movie “On The Beach” starring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardiner and Fred Astaire. More recently, Canadian Bay was used for the Mini Series Gallipoli on Channel 9 in 2015.
